JBL On Stage Micro II Speaker System for iPod (Black) Review
This is the second JBL device of this type that we own. We purchased the original JBL On Stage several years ago and it has given us great reliable service. We received our second device, the JBL On Stage II, today. It works great, sounds great, nice price, just one issue with this device that keeps it from 5 stars. The remote. The remote works fine, but it has one great flaw, it is shiny black plastic with light gray icons (menu, play, ff, skip, etc.). It is almost impossible to see the icons unless you hold the remote just right, to the light, to see the icons instead of the reflection of the plastic. I guess I will just have to memorize what bump on the remote, fulfills what function. Other than that, I would recommend this device.

Portable Loudspeaker Dock for iPod and iPhone
Why JBL?
Been to a movie or a concert recently? There's a good chance that you were enjoying the show on JBL loudspeakers. If you've watched TV or listened to CDs, what you listened to was more than likely recorded on JBL equipment. For more than 60 years, JBL has been the loudspeaker brand of choice for recording professionals around the world. Now you can enjoy that same renowned JBL sound quality from your iPod or iPhone.
OnePoint Design
The OnePoint iPod connectors provide the connection to your computer. Connect the USB cable to the rear of the unit; then, every time you dock your iPod, you will have a connection for synchronizing and charging.
Evercharge Topology
When your iPod or iPhone is docked, it will receive a charge, even when not connected to the computer or if the system is off. The On Stage II provides the power to make sure your device is ready to go when you are.
Easy-to-Use Music and Navigation Controls
Just a touch of the music controls on the On Stage II increases or decreases the volume. Using the navigation controls on the remote control, you can browse iPod songs, photos, and playlists; change tracks and settings; and much more. With the remote, you have complete control of your iPod, as if it were in your hand.
RF Remote Technology
The JBL On Stage Micro II IR remote has several modes of operation. The Music mode allows you to control the volume, change tracks, fast forward, and fast reverse. The iPod Navigation mode allows you to navigate the iPod or iPhone menus just as if you were touching the device itself. You can navigate your music, watch your slideshows, and find and play your videos.
Small Package, Serious Sound
With its four Odyssey transducers, the On Stage II delivers 12 watts of total power. Proprietary technologies help provide the highest audio quality, for great bass and clear, accurate sound from any direction.
- Odyssey transducers--The Odyssey drivers provide accurate high frequencies while capable of low-frequency extension of four octaves, unlike traditional powered tweeters. This design provides a full, rich frequency response from low bass to the highest highs.
- Slipstream port design--The JBL On Stage Micro port minimizes boundary layer separation, providing high-output bass with low distortion.
- COE (Computer-Optimized Equalization)--The JBL On Stage Micro system equalization is computer-optimized to provide a rich, complete soundstage over a range of listening positions.
- OCT (Optimized Compression Topology)--The system utilizes a proprietary compression technology to ensure clean, accurate sound at high output levels.
Battery or AC Power
The On Stage Micro II will run on AC power with the included power supply, or on four AAA batteries. Add the unit's ultra-compact profile, and you've got a superb portable device. Enjoy your favorite music at the beach, at a picnic, or anywhere else you'd like.
Auxiliary Input
With a standard 3.5mm mini jack, you can connect iPod shuffles, MP3 players, or pretty much any audio device for enjoyment through the Micro II's speakers.
